Changes made to improve my health and become more active led me to the discovery of a new passion - photography. Wanting to continue to learn and improve, I became a member of the Professional Photographers of America where I'm currently working on my path to becoming a certified Master Photographer. I'm also a member of the North American Nature Photography Association where I've learned a great deal about Nature Photography.

It's been an incredible journey and I've come to a point where I want to give back and share the incredible things I've learned along the way. In doing so, I hope to inspire the same passion I feel for photography into others that they might experience the joy and fulfillment that photography has given me! I look forward to working with you!

Chuck Milledge is available for private bookings

Available most Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm. And most weekends from 9 am - 5:00 pm unless I have a scheduled class.

Private tutoring available upon request depending on availability. While I specialize in nature and bird photography. I am a generalist photographer and feel comfortable providing tutoring on any aspect of photography including nature photography, macro photography, bird photography, landscape photography, as well as general basic and advanced photography and editing.

While visiting a small park in Florida, I was drawn to a cluster of Great Blue Herons nesting high above the waterline. At least four nests were visible, some already established while others were still actively being built. The herons moved continuously between the trees and surrounding shoreline, carrying sticks and branches in their beaks as they worked to strengthen their nests. What made the experience especially remarkable was the number of birds gathered in such a small area. Title or Location: The photo was taken through my porch window out onto our pond in the Lakes of Scarborough, New Haven.
I've been waiting for probably 20 years to catch this photo. The fountain comes on at 8:45 each day and I've always hoped to catch a goose or duck on the fountain when it does. Usually, I think the vibration of kicking on warns them and they take off. When I saw our pond guy heading for the electrical box to turn the fountain on for the first time this year AND our resident Blue Herron happened to be standing on the fountain, I grabbed the camera and shot a burst when the water kicked on. I was looking at taking pictures of birds before the rain came. I noticed these, and I like the King of the Hill and Mom nesting. Used 200mm, 400, f11 at an ISO of 400. Crop a little tighter in Lightroom and process (I shoot in Raw), sharpen with On1 ( I like their sharpening). I like this image because it tells a story. Thank you for thinking of me.

I was on holiday in Sydney and I went to Circular Quay to take some night time photos, when I saw that the opera house was lit up. I took a couple of photos ,then went to change my lens.By the time I had done this I saw the lights on the opera house had gone out. I then realised it was a rehearsal for Vivid a Sydney winter light show which takes place around the harbour.
